Pampering deals at the region’s biggest and award-winning Royal Spa

THE Royal Spa at Al Areen Palace & Spa, situated in Sakhir, Bahrain, won the Best Spa Design and Best Destination Spa for 2013 at the Middle East Spa Awards.

The resort has been receiving very favourable response since and fresh plans are on the way. A new organic spa café will be launched at The Royal Spa to serve health conscious clientele while new signature treatments will also be added.

Tania Jane Varley, assistant spa manager, says: “A huge investment was made to upgrade all our facilities within the property, consistent with the harmonious integration of decor, ambience, new products, treatments and services. We wanted to create a tranquil and luxurious oasis, tailoring a unique and personal journey of shear indulgence for our guests.”

The spa has also been nominated to participate in The Prestige 2014 Worldwide Luxury Hotel & Spa Awards. “Winning this would be a great achievement for both Bahrain and Al Areen,” Varley says, adding: “Our plans are to continue with the expansion of Al Areen by introducing Bahrain’s first organic healing cafe, health, fitness and relaxation breaks, healing and wellness tours. My own personal target is to oversee that Al Areen transforms itself into becoming the ultimate wellness destination not only for GCC but worldwide.”

The spa, which spans 110,000 sq ft making it one of the biggest in the Middle East, offers a full range of treatments and packages for both men and women including health and fitness, diet and nutritional programmes, massage, Moroccan scrubs, body scrubs, facial, manicure, pedicure, waxing, hair and make-up. Amongst many of its popular signature treatments available at the spa are the Royal Indulgence and the newly-launched Hamman Khozama.
