Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, has appointed Shams Al Doseri as the Country Manager for its Muscat station. Al Doseri is the first Bahraini female to run a Gulf Air outstation. She has spent nearly 10 years with Gulf Air, gaining a wide experience in sales and outstation roles.
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has appointed Anthony Tyler as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. Prior to this, he was General Manager of the award-winning Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou. He has held senior positions at leading properties across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North and Central America.
Mohamed Abdallah has joined Fairmont Bab Al Bahr as F&B Director. In 2011, he joined Fairmont Bab Al Bahr as Banquet Operation Director and was then promoted as Conference Services & Catering Director. He has received ‘The Fairmont Masters for best wedding and Conference Venue by Haute Grandeur’ twice.
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has appointed Rami Z. Sayess as Regional Vice President & General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay. He has been with Four Seasons over the past 15 years, and will be overseeing several Four Seasons hotels and resorts in Europe, Middle East & Africa region (EMEA). Taking over the reins from Sayess will be Georges Ojeil, a 20-year hospitality veteran, who most recently was the Area General Manager for Campbell Gray Amman and Le Gray Hotel Beirut. Ojeil will take on the leadership role as General Manager for Four Seasons Hotel Beirut starting January 2021 and will report to Sayess in his capacity a Regional Vice President.

Abu Dhabi Airports Company’s CEO Bryan Thompson has joined the board of Airports Council International. He has more than 25 years’ experience in airport management and operations. Prior to working in the Gulf, he held key roles at the Australia Pacific Airports Corporation and Mumbai International Airport.
Kempinski Hotels has appointed Andreas Magnus as General Manager at Kempinski Palace Engelberg, set to open in spring 2021. He had spent the last three years as Hotel Manager at Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok. Andreas started as a trainee at the Lausanne Palace and the Hotel Castello del Sole Ascona in Switzerland.
GHM has made some important appointments: Ilkin Ilyaszade is Vice President of Operations and Pre-Opening Services, overseeing the development of such up and coming properties as The Chedi Khorfakkan, UAE. Pissawan Srisakul (Jin) has joined the group’s roster as Director of Technical Services in charge of design. From her base in Bangkok, Jin aims to build on GHM’s established reputation as one of the industry’s most sophisticated visual experiences. Jackson Sim is the group’s Director of Marketing with oversight on digital and branding initiatives. Sim worked in a similar capacity for Marriott International and for Singapore’s Next Story Group.
