British Airways launches new crew uniform
Customers travelling with British Airways will now see its cabin crew, pilots and airport teams wearing the airline’s new uniform.
The collection has been designed by British -Ghanaian fashion designer and master tailor, Ozwald Boateng OBE, with the help of more than 1,500 colleagues who were involved in the end-to-end process, including design workshops and prototype feedback.
Sustainability has played an important role in the development of British Airways’ new uniform, as well as in plans to repurpose its current uniform as part of its BA Better World commitments.
Calum Laming, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, said “We’re really excited to start the final phase of the rollout of our brand-new uniform for more than 30,000 colleagues. The stylish modern collection offers our colleagues more choice than ever to help them display more of their original personalities at work. Our people have always been at the forefront of our brand, so today, we’re celebrating them and the work they do to look after our customers.”
Emirates crowned 2024 APEX World Class Airline
Emirates has recently been crowned as a 2024 APEX World Class Airline winner for mastering guest experience and delivering outstanding customer service, at the 2024 APEX/IFSA Awards held in Long Beach, California. Evaluated through a comprehensive audit of quality of service, safety, and health control initiatives, Emirates is one of just eight airlines globally to achieve this accolade. Emirates also received a 2024 IFSA award for ‘Best Onboard Amenity,’ in recognition of Emirates Sustainable Economy Class amenity kit - filled with useful amenities to enhance passenger comfort whilst being composed of more sustainable materials designed for reusability.

Etihad welcomes Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has welcomed the latest addition to its expanding fleet as a new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner landed at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
“The arrival of our latest 787 Dreamliner underlines our passion to grow this year by enhancing the quality of our customer experience and the reach of our network,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer, Etihad Airways. “This is all part of our vision 2030 supporting our growth as underlined by the new destinations to Osaka, Copenhagen and Dusseldorf we began operating two weeks ago.”
This aircraft, and the three Dreamliner 787-9s following shortly, are up to 25 per cent more fuel efficient than many comparable aircraft of their size.
The arrival comes exactly three years to the day since Etihad took delivery of its last Boeing 787-10 on October 13, 2020.
Pegasus takes delivery of its 100th aircraft
Continuing to expand its fleet with new generation engine aircraft, Pegasus Airlines has taken delivery of its 100th aircraft, named Cumhuriyet (‘Republic’) in honour of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye. The new Airbus A321neo, bearing the tail sign TC-RDP, completed its inaugural journey from Hamburg, Germany, landing at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 6pm.
The aircraft was specially designed to pay tribute to the centenary of the Turkish Republic, featuring the silhouette and signature of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on its tail. Cumhuriyet is the ninth of the 16 new aircraft scheduled to join the Pegasus fleet in 2023, marking the 100th aircraft so far and the 75th aircraft to be delivered as part of the Airbus order signed in 2012, which, through additional agreements over the years was extended to a total of 150 aircraft.
