Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel

Anantara opens in medieval Amalfi convent

Anantara has breathed life into a 13th-century cliffside Capuchin convent in Amalfi. Following extensive renovations, Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel officially opens its doors, welcoming guests with elegantly renovated rooms and suites featuring original elements, exciting dining concepts and a world-class spa, all with panoramic views of the Mediterranean.

Just a 15-minute walk from the centre of Amalfi and approximately 90 minutes’ drive from Naples International Airport, the hotel strikes the perfect balance between accessible escape and secluded monastic retreat. The restoration of the 800-year-old building carefully preserves historic features including ornate cloisters and an on-site Baroque church complete with a marble altar and Majolica floor.

The property’s 52 guest rooms and suites – many of which were first built as monks’ quarters – feature original tiles, vaulted ceilings and lime-washed walls for a sense of simple serenity, blended seamlessly with rich textiles, sculptural furniture, local art, high-tech comforts and Mediterranean views.

Hotel d’Inghilterra Roma returns anew

Hotel d’Inghilterra Roma - Starhotels Collezione, a historic five-star hotel in the heart of Rome has recently undergone a major renovation, as part of Starhotels’ ongoing commitment to enhance the guest experience, while preserving the spirit of this legendary meeting place.

The renovation has included the restoration of the exterior and the historic facade, as well as the refurbishment of the rooms and top-of-the-range suites. A great deal of care and attention to detail, even in the most hidden areas, has been paid to the rooms to make the most of their uniqueness, in a balance between antiquity and modernity, which come together in an inimitable style.

The Hotel d’Inghilterra dates to the middle of the 16th century, when it was used as a noble residence for the guests of Palazzo Torlonia, just opposite. Some of the hotel’s most illustrious guests include John Keats, Byron and Shelley, Henry James, Elizabeth Taylor, Gregory Peck and Ernest Hemingway.
