Israel Ministry of Tourism hosts UAE travel agents

Israel Ministry of Tourism recently hosted a familiarization trip for nine travel agents from the UAE and invited them to the 29th International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM 2023) and Israel Where Else Convention in Tel Aviv.

Israel Ministry of Tourism recently hosted a familiarization trip for nine travel agents from the UAE and invited them to the 29th International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM 2023) and Israel Where Else Convention in Tel Aviv.

IMTM, running from February 9 to 14, is a global networking and industry event designed to connect professionals from all levels of business and service in tourism and travel. The platform offers the national & international tourism exhibitors to network with global buyers to drive inbound and outbound travel from Israel and the region.

The aim of the trip was to highlight the multifaceted attractions of Israel and create a marketplace for partners from Israel to network with the partners from the UAE as part of the global delegation to understand the Israel travel offerings and create packages to promote it amongst the UAE travellers.

The itinerary of the trip entailed “ A Tale of Two Cities- Tel Aviv & Jerusalem” and “ A Spiritual Journey in the Holy Land” where the travel partners could experience the amazing beaches of Tel Aviv that run along the stretch till Jaffa (Yafo) the unique experience of the lowest point in the earth – the Dead Sea, the Holy Land of Jerusalem and Nazareth which are interesting landmarks for those who love to know more about culture and history & a haven for food lovers.

In addition to the visits to historical and holy sites, other highlights of activities experienced by the agents included guided walking Graffiti tour & workshop in Tel Aviv, Raizers ride tour of the agricultural greenhouses in Tel Azekah, interactive participation at Peres Centre for Peace and Innovation Centre, exhibiting Israeli innovations and technologies as Start-Up nation, traditional Jewish dinner as part of home hospitality, Foraging workshop  delving into the tradition of foraging wild plants, and gala networking evenings at  Jerusalem Aquarium and Noor Jaffa, Tel Aviv.

During the IMTM, Sara Salansky, Senior Department Manager, IMOT said: “We are very excited to be hosting travel partners from the UAE for the first time at IMTM and Israel Where Else Convention in Tel Aviv. We are ready to welcome tourists from the UAE and are hoping to attract the locals as well as the expats. Israel is an unexplored destination in the UAE.

“We are promoting the country in the UAE as a destination in close proximity targeting families, religious travellers, FIT and leisure travellers through various B2B and B2C activities like destination workshops, Israeli MasterChef at Taste of Dubai, e-learning and joint collaborations with travel agents, airlines and media. We will also be participating at the ATM 2023”
