The Ned Doha opens for business

Membership Collective Group opens its doors to The Ned Doha in Qatar, its third Ned hotel and members’ club and its first location in the Middle East.

Founded in London in 2017, The Ned expanded in the summer of 2022 to include The Ned NoMad in New York, and now The Ned Doha has opened in time for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Set over five floors in the former site of the Ministry of Interior, overlooking the Arabian Gulf and Doha’s skyline, The Ned Doha features 90 bedrooms and suites, six public restaurants, a pool and club lounge, a health club with spa, salon, and fitness centre, and a new 775sqm (8,350sq ft) event space for large-scale conferences, events, and receptions.

“Five years after launching The Ned in London, we are excited to open in Doha. We are really excited to occupy one of the city’s most architecturally significant buildings, comprising of a hotel, multiple restaurants and its own private members’ club” said Gareth Banner, Group Managing Director, The Ned.

 

Khaybar Volcano Camp offers eco-lodge product

Khaybar Volcano Camp, a new luxury eco-lodge concept, has opened to visitors on December 15, 2022, in the recently opened up region of Khaybar, Saudi Arabia. Built on the landscape of extinct volcanoes, the Khaybar Volcano Camp is situated in one of the most spectacular and untouched places on earth. Now being excavated by the world’s leading archaeologists, the discoveries of the Khaybar Harrat region are helping to form new theories about ancient Arabia and civilisations of the past.

In the heart of one of the largest and rarest lava fields in the Kingdom, Khaybar Volcano Camp’s guests will tread where Arabia’s earliest human settlements left their mark. During a curated journey, guests will explore one of the most expansive and important archaeological projects in the world, full of prehistoric monuments, rare geological landmarks, lush oases, and lava caves that have existed for millions of years. With the opening of the Khaybar Volcano Camp, the region will be accessible to travellers who desire a full immersion in this awe-inspiring part of the world.

 

Waldorf Astoria Kuwait marks grand opening

Waldorf Astoria Kuwait celebrated its official grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil the property, a refined haven blending timeless elegance with a modern sensibility in the heart of Kuwait City.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for Waldorf Astoria Kuwait was attended by Chris Nassetta, President and CEO, Hilton, alongside Hilton executives. Chairman Mr Mohammed Alshaya, and CEO, Mr Waleed Al Sharian attended, representing Mabanee, owner of the property and leading real estate developer known for its modern vision and excellence in innovation projects. The hotel team, alongside special guests, also joined the team to celebrate the Grand Opening.

Wyndham announces global expansion

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company with approximately 9,100 hotels across more than 95 countries, continues its growth trajectory across Europe, Middle East, Eurasia and Africa (EMEA).

In the Middle East, Wyndham continued to bring more accommodation options to Dubai, with the launch of Wyndham Residences on Palm Jumeirah. Wyndham also opened the 278-key beachfront Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach, as well as Ramada by Wyndham Doha Old Town.

In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Wyndham opened the 189-key Ramada by Wyndham Riyadh King Fahd Road. The latest opening represents the Company’s 13th hotel in KSA.

In Turkey, Wyndham cemented its position as the largest international hotel company by the number of properties with 10 additional openings.
