The Waldhotel Health & Medical Excellence at Bürgenstock Hotels & Resort Lake Lucerne

Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne has partnered with renowned fertility expert Zita West to offer the first ‘Fit for Fertility’ Retreat from March 12 to 16, which will combine the best medical care with a holistic approach to preparing for fertility.

It will work through individual challenges to fertility, assessing lifestyle, physical and emotional health to create a bespoke road-map.

In Q3 2023, the Bürgenstock Resort’s health and medical centre, Waldhotel, will be rebranded to become ‘Bürgenstock Health’, focusing its position within the resort for medical wellbeing. Guests will find benefit from medical check-ups, short and long-stay programmes to improve overall health and consequently aim for longevity. New programmes will be released to mark the rebrand.

SOUTH KENSINGTON

In the heart of exclusive South Kensington just steps away from Harrods and London’s world-renowned museums, boutique Victoria townhouse hotel The Adria will join the Bürgenstock Collection this month.

Also owned by Katara Hospitality, the 24-room property will be the first hotel outside of Switzerland to join the Collection.

Exclusive and discreet, The Adria is exemplary of a traditional townhouse hotel putting guests’ privacy first and foremost. Flexibility and convenience are at the core ethos of The Adria and the team of personal butlers offering unparalleled levels of service are on-hand to cater for guests every need.

150 YEARS

2023 is the year that Bürgenstock Resort celebrates its 150th anniversary. The resort has a rich history as one of the world’s most visionary resort constructions, from its funicular being the first electric railway in Switzerland, to opening the highest outdoor elevator in Europe, the Hammetschwand Lift in 1905.

It soon became a desirable destination to the rich and famous, from Jimmy Carter to Charlie Chaplin; home to the wedding of Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer in 1954 and the residence of Sophia Loren and Carlo Ponti for several years. Sean Connery and the crew of Goldfinger stayed at the mountain-top resort’s Palace Hotel for a month in 1964, shooting scenes in nearby Stans and on the Furka Pass as well as round the hotel’s iconic Hollywood pool.

Since its reopening in 2017 following a half a billion Swiss Franc investment, the resort has continued to be forward-thinking, blending Swiss heritage and innovative design to become a year-round destination-resort with moments to ‘wow’ guests. It will launch its ‘Beyond Imagination’ celebratory packages to mark the occasion. A celebration weekend will take place in June 2023 at the resort, with festivities, special menus, and events.

To mark the 150th anniversary, a series of ‘Beyond Imagination’ experiences will be created.
