Saudi visitors to Mauritius jump 137pc in January

Saudi tourists to Mauritius increased 137 per cent in January compared to the same month in 2019, ranking the kingdom top ninth market to Mauritius, and number one ranked Arab country for tourists arrivals to the Indian Ocean Island.

Saudi tourists to Mauritius increased 137 per cent in January compared to the same month in 2019, ranking the kingdom top ninth market to Mauritius, and number one ranked Arab country for tourists arrivals to the Indian Ocean Island.
 
This increase follows the successful results of visitors from the kingdom to Mauritius in 2019, as the Saudi tourist arrivals increased by 38 per cent, the visitors' number was 22,788 in 2019 compared to 16,507 in 2018, making the Saudi market number 10 in rank, jumping from the 12th rank in 2018.
 
The promotional and marketing activities in the kingdom are set to raise the awareness of Mauritius as an ideal destination for Saudi honeymooners and families seeking a luxury experience, that offers numerous family attractions, as well as exceptional Halal dining options, water activities, year-round adventures and Muslim-Friendly atmosphere with prayer rooms around every corner.
 
Saudi top travel agencies have highlighted that the Indian Ocean’s Island as a top luxury destination to visit in all seasons, while clarifying that one of the reasons for the increase in demand is the fact that visitors do not need a visa to cross the Mauritian borders, with the availability of direct flights with Saudi Airlines.
 
MTPA will continue its marketing activities in March by conducting a roadshow in the Saudi main cities to promote the Mauritian tourism product and make B2B workshop with face-to-face meetings between Saudi Arabian Buyers and MTPA partners and to highlight what new the island has to offer for the Saudi traveller. - TradeArabia News Service
