Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas is set to undergo a $165 million transformation, which will see the addition of new features, before setting sail in 2020.

Guests onboard the 'amplified' Allure of the Seas will experience a lineup of new features, including the Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea; The Perfect Storm trio of waterslides, completely redesigned Adventure Ocean and teen spaces, and Quantum Class original Music Hall.

Located on deck 16, the Ultimate Abyss will stand at a height of 45.72 metres, offering adventure-lovers an adrenaline rush, while The Perfect Storm, a combination of three high-speed waterslides, will be situated on deck 15.

On the Amplified Allure of the Seas, travellers between the ages of 13 to 17 will get an exciting new space exclusively for themselves. Located beyond the secret speakeasy entrance, the brand new gaming lounge will come alive with arcade games, music and movies. There will be plenty of comfortable seating to kick back and relax with friends. Thanks to the award-winning Adventure Ocean youth programme, younger travellers have access to open play areas and dedicated spaces for all types of interactive activities on all Royal Caribbean ships.

Nightlife lovers have more reasons to party onboard the Amplified Allure of the Seas. The luxurious ship will boast a redesigned music hall complete with live music, a dance floor, a pool table, four TVs and much more. Karaoke fans can look no further than the Spotlight Karaoke for socialising, where they will be able to sing their favourite hits from a choice of thousands of popular songs. Alongside, sports aficionados can head to the Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, a specialty restaurant, to watch the latest sporting action live on big screens or compete with their mates over the latest video games.

The Amplified Allure of the Seas will place culinary exploration on the map. Diners can relish Tuscan flavours at the reimagined Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen, where rustic dishes will grace the menu. Carnivores will have the option of dining at the new Portside BBQ, that will serve BBQ favourites, including tender slices of brisket, and turkey legs, cooked by an expert pitmaster. Delicious Mexican fare such as burritos, tacos and all types of salsa will be available at El Loco Fresh while those with a sweet tooth can head to Sugar Beach for yummy treats.

Reimagined as the ultimate summer vacation in Europe, Allure will open its season of seven-night Western Mediterranean cruises from homeport Barcelona, Spain on May 10, 2020.

The seven-night Western Mediterranean cruises will sail roundtrip from Barcelona will visit must-see cities such as Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Provence (Marseille), France; Florence/Pisa (La Spezia), Rome (Civitavecchia) and Naples/Capri, Italy.

Allure joins the original gamechanger, Oasis of the Seas, as the second Oasis Class ship to be reimagined in the $1 billion Royal Amplified fleet modernisation programme. These two revolutionary ships will steal the spotlight next year in Europe and the New York area, respectively, as the boldest summer vacations on both sides of the Atlantic.

In November 2020, Allure will make its way coast to coast to Miami for the winter season. Sailing from Royal Caribbean’s state-of-the-art Terminal A, the reimagined ship will offer seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.
