Train to offer Titanic voyages

Share

Underwater expeditions expert OceanGate has announced plans to certify certain high-calibre travel organisations and these Certified Oceangate Affiliates (COA) will offer Titanic Survey Expeditions to clients, allowing them to become mission specialists on the first manned submersible missions to the RMS Titanic in 14 years.

The world’s only five-person deep sea submersible, known as Titan, transports participants 3,800 meters below the sea surface where the shipwreck rests.

The Titanic Survey Expedition is an opportunity for agents to offer rare, hands-on, experiential, adventure programmes to their clients. Citizen explorers, known as mission specialists, are active participants in this expedition and serve in roles such as dive communications, navigation and tracking, photography and image analysis, scientific data collection, each providing measurable value to the expedition.

“The Expedition is not for everyone. This isn’t a series of five-course meals on a yacht anchored off white sand beaches. This is a hands-on expedition experience”
– Stockton Rush

“Our expeditions are for aspiring explorers that want an adventure, to get involved, and be a part of documenting history and participating in science. Our mission specialists are people that care about the ocean and the preservation of the historic site for future generations, while going places and doing things very few people in the entire world have done,” says Stockton Rush, CEO, OceanGate. “The Expedition is not for everyone. This isn’t a series of five-course meals on a yacht anchored off white sand beaches. This is a hands-on expedition experience.”

Participating travel agencies and agents must qualify for the program. Upon acceptance, agents will have access to the full range of OceanGate expeditions, including the Titanic Survey Expedition and customized client expeditions. Certified OceanGate Affiliates receive training, sales and marketing support and priority booking opportunities for available mission dates. The exclusive, global program will accept a limited number of COAs within each geography.

The Titanic Survey Expedition has up to nine mission specialist positions available on each of the six eight-day missions that depart from St. John’s, Newfoundland beginning this month. Mission Specialists are given a unique opportunity to meet, learn from and work alongside veteran explorers, scientists and Titanic experts.

Aspiring Mission Specialists should contact OceanGate or a Certified OceanGate Affiliate right away for qualifications, available dates and additional
details.
