Westin Hotels & Resorts, a leader in wellness and hospitality and a brand of Starwood, has opened its new property in Doha, Qatar.

The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, located in the heart of Salwa Road, last month celebrated its grand opening. The hotel marks Starwood’s fourth hotel in Qatar. The event showcased the hotel’s bespoke wellbeing offering through a range of exciting entertainment offerings.

'At Westin, everything is designed to help guests feel their best. The Westin Well-Being Movement, is an initiative dedicated to inspiring our guests to discover new approaches to well-being with our six pillars: sleep well, eat well, move well, feel well, work well, play well,' the hotel said.

Well-being was the inspiration behind all the animation, live acrobats, synchronised swimmers and musicians who wowed crowds on the night in the stunning serene garden sanctuary of the hotel, with a delicious assortment of gastronomy from the six appealing outlets at the hotel.

Michael Wale, president for Europe, Africa & Middle East for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, and Gianrico Esposito, general manager of The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, thanked attendees for their presence and guests.

Esposito said: 'We believe the offering at this property is truly exciting. We are introducing the residents of Qatar to a new health-enhancing and rejuvenation focused hotel and spa approach, in what is today one of the most dynamic and fastest growing cities in the world.

LANDMARK

'We are bringing a new landmark to the historical district of Feerej Bin Mahmoud, while re-affirming the inspired vision and pioneering entrepreneurial spirit of HE Sheikh Ghanem bin Ali Al-Thani, who first opened an international branded hotel back 1979, after having launched the very first mall of Doha with ‘The Centre,’' he said.

The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa offers 365 rooms and suites including a presidential suite and five pool villas – all boasting the world-renowned signature Westin Heavenly Bed.

Quality dining is available from the international Seasonal Tastes, to the delicate flavours of the authentic Thai restaurant Sabai Thai, the sophisticated Hunter’s Room and Grill that has the only indoor garden venue in Doha, and the Mix Bar, Lounge & Terrace.

The property also has spectacular banqueting opportunities in the Westin Grand Ballroom, the largest pillar-less ballroom in Doha featuring over 6,000 sq m of function space.

As part of its signature well-being proposition, the hotel features the Heavenly Spa offering a perfect escape from the arduous city life with nine elegant treatment rooms including designated male and female wings, complete with relaxation lounge. The wet spa areas with saunas, steam rooms and hydrotherapy pool facilities will open in spring 2016.

Guests looking for a revitalising-yet energized stay can power up in the WestinWorkout Fitness Studio, a spacious state-of-the-art gym, or take advantage of Doha’s first man-made wave pool. The hotel also offers Westin’s signature gear lending programme, providing New Balance shoes and athletic wear for guests looking to stay active while on the road.

In the Middle East, Starwood currently operates 53 properties with a pipeline of over 40 hotels to open in the next five years.
