SITUATED in the heart of the city, the Swiss-Belhotel Plaza Kuwait will undergo extensive renovation that will see new remodelled guest suites, deluxe rooms and standard rooms, with a plan to give the hotel a more contemporary look that suits business travellers. The lobby area will also be revamped; giving it a modern, spacious and colourful look that offer guests an easy and comfortable check-in experience at the hotel.
According to Ali Haddad general manager of Swiss-Belhotel Plaza Kuwait, the guest rooms will be fitted with new furniture, bathrooms and state-of-the-art technology including LCD televisions over the summer months when occupancy tends to remain low.
The hotel restaurants will go into major refurbishment immediately after the rooms are finished, however one of the restaurant will be renovated and reopened in April 2012 as a Korean restaurant, Arirang, named after a popular folk song in Korea. Arirang Korean restaurant will offer varieties of Korean traditional cuisines with its authentic ornament and flair. Arirang will be the first authentic Korean restaurant in Kuwait.
“The Banquet area too will undergo partial renovation to provide more quality service, maintain the valuable clients and gain more opportunity for corporate events, weddings and social gatherings,” adds Katrina Jarlos, banquet sales executive.
Swiss-Belhotel Plaza Kuwait Grand Ballroom can be alienated into three meeting rooms and can accommodate up to 350 persons (theatre style) suitable for break-out sessions for groups of up to 50 people.
The hotel’s occupancy increased by 50 per cent last year over 2010, with a huge involvement from sports championship groups and the corporate market. “We also see a lot of demand for long stay guests looking for suites which offer kitchenettes, for a more comfortable stay at the hotel. Value for money is our priority in providing convenience and comfort to our valuable guest” adds Haddad.
